Bio of The Clay Figures
March 31,
2004
The
Clay Figures is
a square dance performance group that formed in August of 1996 with the initial
purpose of providing entertainment for fellow square dancers at a New Years Eve
Dance that same year. Since that first
outing, the members have performed under the direction of caller/instructor Clay
Goss, who is the primary source of the
group’s choreography and musical arrangements.
The group’s themed performances feature energetic music and choreography
which mostly utilizes common modern western square dance calls from very unique
positions, sprinkled with non-typical calls.
From entrance through transitions to exit, the routines are tightly
executed. All this combines to create a very
captivating performance, delighting audiences at both first time and repeat
venues!
